Bio

Danny grew up in Albuquerque, NM where he began playing drums at the age of 12 and began playing professionally at age 18.  In 1989, Danny journeyed to New York City completing the certificate program at the Drummers Collective School of Music with primary focus of study in Latin Rhythms for the drum set and Studio drumming. Returning to New Mexico, he began playing jingle and session dates as well as performing with latin salsa band Las Amigas (opening for such musical luminaries as Airto and Rueben Blades). In 1991 Danny moved to Nashville, TN where for three years he did session work as well as performed with a variety of artists from Phil Keaggy to nationally known reggae group Freedom of Expression. Moving to Michigan in '94, Danny maintained a private drum teaching position for the past 25 years while playing with various artists in concert as well as the studio. Danny currently resides in Austin Texas continuing to play and teach professionally. Discovering music from a different angle (composing with guitar and recording) has kept music ever fresh and has opened a new outlet for musical expression. Danny is working on a collection of new songs that will hopefully be available soon, so til then, stay tuned.
